Baking Day!

So this year I was going to just take it easy and not do much baking if any at all, but I just couldn’t help myself. I wanted to make this year a little special since the girls are getting older and they are liking more things. I wanted to make them some goodies that they could enjoy over the holiday. I know they will be getting many treats when we go visit family over Christmas, but I guess I just wanted to make them some treats as well. I think the girls are not sure what to think about all the baking that is going on in the house. I am starting to wonder if they think everyday will be cookie day. :)

Whipped Shortbread Cookies. I made another batch and decided to use my cookie decorator and made them into tree shapes.

My Family’s Famous Sugar Cookies

Glazed Sugar Cookies. My family and I usually go all out with decorating our sugar cookies (to the point where we use toothpicks to place the sprinkles exactly where we want them. Jason never experienced intense sugar cookie decorating until our first Christmas together when we were dating). :) This year Jason and I decided to keep it simple and just glaze the cookies and skip the sprinkle decorating. I put some red and green food coloring in our glaze to at least make them a little festive for Christmas. I think they still turned out okay. :)

Tomorrow will be my candy making day. I plan on making Soft Peanut Butter Brittle, Homemade Turtle Candies, and White Chocolate Covered Pretzels. We will see how things go. ;)
